DIVX Players take hold!
There is a reason that this holiday season more and more DVD players are available with DIVX encoding built into the players.
Yes, Video Streaming from a media center cuts out the step of burning a disc! Yet, with divx becoming a standard on DVD machines, it makes playing you're own video files that much easier in your home theater environment.
Let's say you have a catalogue of media that is sitting on your machine, if you burn it as data files to a disc. The DIVx DVD players will play them! You don't need to configure a media center and deal with information streaming delays across a wireless connection.
The best part! You can fit about 5 full length feature movies on 1 DVD disc. Divx is near DVD quality and files average 700-800 mb per file.
Divx your entire catalogue and use a DVD divx player.. They can be picked up for around $50 for a low priced model.
